These Crunch Bars with Beef are a unique twist on a nostalgic classic, offering all the crispy chocolate goodness with none of the processed junk. Instead of rice cereal, this recipe uses dehydrated ground beef for the crunch—resulting in a bar that’s not only delicious but also packed with animal-based protein and healthy fats.
The chocolate is gently sweetened with raw honey and enhanced with grass-fed ghee for a luxurious, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Perfect for carnivore and keto enthusiasts, these bars store well in the fridge or freezer, making them an ideal make-ahead snack or dessert.
• 1 lb ground beef
• 6 oz unsweetened chocolate
• 2–3 tbsp raw honey
• 1 tbsp grass-fed ghee (or butter)
• ¼ tsp sea salt
1. Cook the ground beef on the stovetop until fully done, without adding fat.
2. Drain all the fat, then pat the beef dry thoroughly with a towel.
3. Spread the beef out on a baking sheet in a thin layer and dehydrate in the oven at 200°F for 4–5 hours, stirring occasionally.
4. Once dry and crunchy, let the beef cool completely.
5. Melt the ghee and unsweetened chocolate together in a bowl over low heat.
6. Remove from heat and stir in the raw honey and sea salt until fully incorporated (at least 60 seconds).
7. Let both the chocolate and beef cool to room temperature.
8. Combine the chocolate and dehydrated beef, mixing well.
9. Line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper, then pour in the mixture and spread evenly.
10. Chill in the fridge for 2–3 hours until firm.
11. Remove from the pan, slice into bars, and enjoy!
