Ideal as a high-fat, nutrient-dense snack or meal replacement, they’re incredibly easy to prepare, requiring just three core ingredients and minimal equipment. Make them in bulk and enjoy the convenience of having real-food bars ready anytime hunger hits.
• 2 lbs ground beef
• 16 tbsp grass-fed ghee (or butter)
• 1 tsp sea salt
1. Cook the ground beef on the stovetop until fully done. Do not add any fat while cooking.
2. Drain out all the rendered fat from the pan.
3. Transfer the cooked ground beef to a plate and pat dry with a towel to remove excess fat.
4. Spread the beef in a thin layer on a baking sheet.
5. Dehydrate in the oven at 200°F for 3 to 4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes for even drying.
6. Once dry and crunchy, remove and let the beef cool completely.
7. Melt the ghee over low-medium heat. Remove from heat as soon as melted.
8. Add the dried beef and sea salt to your container and pour over the melted ghee. Mix well.
9. Place the container in the fridge for at least 4 hours, or overnight, until the mixture sets.
10. Cut into bars and enjoy chilled.
